Marcus Rashford's meteoric rise in United

Marcus Rashford will make his England debut on Friday night.

The Manchester United striker has enjoyed an incredible rise having been an unknown teenager just three months ago.

Since breaking into the firs-team fold, Rashford has scored eight goals in 18 appearances and was rewarded with a place in the provisional Three Lions squad for Euro 2016.

He will make his debut against Australia and Daniel Sturridge's injury setback means Rashford could make the final travelling party.

Here is his meteoric rise over the last few months.

Watford 1-2 Manchester United
November 21, 2015

Rashford is named on the first-team bench for United's trip to Watford.

Louis van Gaal is without several strikers for the clash at Vicarage Road as Memphis Depay leads the line.

United won 2-1 but Rashford is an unused substitute.

He is also on the bench for the following weekend's trip to Leicester City.

Manchester United 5-1 FC Midtjylland
February 25, 2016

The night that shot Rashford to stardom as he scored twice on his debut.

The teenager looked set to be on the bench for the Europa League second-leg, with United trailing 2-1, before Anthony Martial pulled up in the warm-up.

With the score 1-1 on the night, Rashford tucked home from close range before repeating the trick just 12 minutes later.

United went on to win 5-1, securing a 6-3 aggregate success, but the night belonged to their starlet.

Manchester United 3-2 Arsenal
February 28, 2016

Just three days after his Europa League heroics, Rashford made his first Premier League start at home to Arsenal.

And if his Midtjylland display was impressive, this was even better.

Rashford steered in from close range to open the scoring and headed past Petr Cech just three minutes later.

He also had a hand in Ander Herrera's goal as United held on to a valuable three points.

Manchester City 0-1 Manchester United
March 20, 2016

After a whirlwind first month in the United first-team, Rashford wrote his name into Manchester derby folklore at the Etihad.

Again in a main striking role, the teenager destroyed City's back-line and opened the scoring after just 16 minutes.

Rashford collected the ball just outside the City area before completely skinning Martin Demichelis and slotting past Joe Hart.

He should have had a penalty soon after, following Demichelis' rash challenge but referee Michael Oliver waved play on.

After the game, Van Gaal labelled the teenager a "real striker" as he was tipped to break into the England fold.

England Under 20s 1-2 Canada Under 20s
March 27, 2016

A week on from the crowning moment of his short career, Rashford was in action at Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium.

He led the line for England Under-20s but didn't manage to find the net as the Young Lions were beaten.

It was a first and only appearance at this level for the Manchester United teenager.

West Ham 1-2 Manchester United
April 16, 2016

Having started every game since breaking into the first-team, Rashford was dragged off at half-time in United's thrashing at Tottenham.

But just three days later, he proved he was no flash in the pan with a stunning goal in the FA Cup replay.

Rashford collected the ball just outside the West Ham area before cutting inside and firing an unstoppable effort into the top corner.

Marouane Fellaini added to United's tally as they held on to claim their place in the semi-final of the competition.

They would of course go on to win the FA Cup by beating Crystal Palace at Wembley.

Wins Young Player of the Year
May 2, 2016

Rashford was presented with the award after an incredible breakthrough season.

He collected the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year gong at the ceremony at Old Trafford.

"It’s been a bit crazy really as everything happened at once, so it’s difficult to take in," he said.

"That worked in my favour as I didn’t really have time to think about.

“It means a lot coming from Manchester. It’s what dreams are made of when you’re born here, it was everything I was looking forward to – I’m happy."

Named in provisional Euro 2016 squad
May 16, 2016

Rashford was the surprise inclusion as Roy Hodgson named his provisional 26-man squad for the European Championships.

The teenager appeared unlikely to make the final cut when the announcement was made but Roy Hodgson vowed to give him an opportunity.

"The competition for him is quite strong, he'll understand that, but I think he deserves to be selected, certainly in this larger squad," he said.

"It's great to be able to include him and there is no reason that, if he does exceptionally well, why he couldn't knock someone off their perch."

Rashford is set to make his debut against Australia on Friday.
