Lingard set to sign new four-year deal at United

Jesse Lingard is set to send his rapidly burgeoning profile soaring by penning new Manchester United and Adidas deals.

The United academy graduate has enjoyed an promising start to the season under Jose Mourinho, resulting in Gareth Southgate handing the forward his first senior England caps in the World Cup qualification clashes against Malta and Slovenia last month.

And Lingard is in line for a new four-year contract at Old Trafford, which will be worth around double his current £30,000-per-week wage.

The 23-year-old has 18 months left to run on his existing deal and United are keen on tying the youngster down to an extension to prevent him from entering the final year of his contract.

Similarly, plans to renegotiate his existing sponsorship package with sportswear giants Adidas – a deal that will be worth a seven-figure sum - are also in the pipeline.

The fact United and Lingard are both tied into deals with Adidas will be beneficial for the German firm's future marketing strategies.

Lingard has seen his stock rise rapidly in recent months after scoring a brilliant extra time winner for United in their FA Cup Final win over Crystal Palace in May.

His recent England debut has further bolstered his reputation as one of the best emerging homegrown talents in the country, and Lingard is now set to reap the benefits on and off the pitch.
