With rumours that the average age of a United season ticket holder is now creeping above even middle aged. It is hard to imagine an Old Trafford like the one we once knew, with pay on the day, and young kids arriving on their own to make their ‘patch’ in the stands. What price progress? But United will have to do something about the growing age gap problem with its fanbase. “If the kids are United”?
